We will guide you through a systematic approach.
The process usually includes:
- Skin cancer and mole checks: Clinical examination with the aid of dermoscopy.
- Diagnosis confirmation: Once we have examined you, the doctor will decide if a biopsy is needed to confirm diagnosis.
- Treatment: A variety of treatment options are provided depending on the nature of the lesion.
Procedures:
- Solar keratosis cryotherapy
- Treatment of other skin cancers such as basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. These often need to be removed surgically. Subsequent repair of the defect may include a flap and/or graft depending on the size and location of the lesion.
- Excisional biopsy of malignant melanoma. A referral to the Melanoma Unit for opinion. Definitive treatment with local wide excision.
